Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup whipped cream (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine 2 cups of flour, 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, 1 cup of softened butter, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a mixing bowl until the dough is crumbly.
  3. Press the dough into the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes or until lightly golden.
  5. Prepare the strawberries by combining 1 cup of sliced strawberries, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in another bowl.
  6. Let the strawberry mixture sit for about 10 minutes.
  7. Once the crust is baked, remove it and let it cool slightly.
  8. Spread the strawberry mixture evenly over the crust.
  9. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  10. Let cool, then cut into bars and serve with whipped cream on top.
